Denmark to South Coast Norway

Our next stop is the harbour town of Hvide Sande. It is situated at the opening between the fjord and the ocean. This area of Sondervig is very popular for wind surfing and sailing and we just happened to arrive during the Sand Sculpture Festival. If you notice the picnic table behind the reeds you realise just how huge this mountain of sand is. There are enormous sculptures, many metres high, with this year's theme being prehistoric animals.
